About Ear Pinning Procedure:

The pinna, or external ear, is made of a thin structural cartilage covered over with thin skin. Each of the various folds and structures of the pinna is named. The specific methods used in ear pinning can vary slightly based upon the patients' needs and desired outcomes. Generally, an ear pinning involves making an incision in the back of the ear and removes skin to expose ear cartilage. Then, the surgeon uses sutures to fold the cartilage in on itself to reshape the ear. In some instances, the same result can be achieved without sutures by weakening the cartilage before folding it. By creating a more pronounced fold in the central portion of the ear, the surgeon brings the ear closer to the head. The scars resulting from ear pinning are quite small and easily hidden by the crease where the ear meets the head. Most ear pinning procedures are performed under local anesthesia which numbs the area around the ears or under a general anesthetic which will make you sleep through the entire operation.

Good candidates are:

Matured men and women, who bothered by their placement or the size of their ears.
